THE REVEREND ROBERT C. HOOPER, III, Rector

  


Background:
Fr. Hooper comes to us from the Church of the Advent, Medfield, Massachusetts, where he has been rector since June, 1997. Prior to that he was associate rector at St. Francis, Great Fall, Virginia, and prior to that youth minister at St. Peter’s, Arlington, Virginia.

Education:
Bob Hooper is a graduate of New England College, Henniker, New Hampshire and Virginia Seminary, where he received his M.Div. in 1995. Currently he is enrolled in a D. Min. program at Episcopal Divinity School, where his dissertation project is entitled “Preaching Toward Discipleship.”

Experience:
In the Diocese of Massachusetts Fr. Hooper has served on a number of committees and commissions, including the Clergy Family Network, the Mission Strategy Committee, and the clergy advisory board for the Harris Camp and Conference Center, and he served as the interim diocesan camp director for a short time. Prior to seminary, Fr. Hooper worked as an account executive in the brokerage business.

Family:
Bob and his wife Priscilla have three children — as well as two dogs

 

THE REVEREND CHRIS CRAUN, DEACON, Assistant Rector

  


Background:
The Rev. Craun comes to us from the Diocese of California. She was ordained to the priesthood in December 2006 at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. She was born and raised in Oakland, California.

Education:
Chris Craun received her Bachelor's of Art degree in Psychology at the University of California, San Diego in 2002. She then completed a Certificate of Theological Studies at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific that focused on professional youth ministry. Following her time at CDSP, she went to The General Theological Seminary and received her Masters of Divinity in 2006.

Experience:
Chris began working in the Diocese of California at an early age. She was a coordinator and counselor for youth events and Diocesan camps from 1994-1998. During her years at the University of California, San Diego, she worked as a camp counselor for kids with HIV/AIDS. She also ran an after-school program for inner-city youth in San Diego. After graduating from college, she was the youth minister at St. George's Episcopal Church in Antioch, CA. She did her field education in seminary at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in New York City.
