Giving and Stewardship
Stewardship is a year-round concern for the Church as well
as for all faithful Christians. In the fall, we have a need to
focus on the financial side of the stewardship equation. Each fall, houses of worship plan their budgets for the coming year and this requires that the members of these communities look seriously, faithfully and prayerfully at how they support their faith communities.

It is no different here at St. James's. It is at this time that we prepare the budget that will guide us financially through the coming year. This means that each of us is asked to do our part to financially support the mission and ministry of God through the work of this parish.

While St. James's has a long history of generosity on the part of its members, and fiscal responsibility on the part of its lay and ordained leadership, the need for you to do your part is great. St. James's budget is over $700,000. This is a large sum (especially for an Episcopal Church) but there is so much more that we could and should be doing to expand our mission and ministries and to help others.

St. James's 2012 Stewardship campaign is well under way. Please view our Faith in Action Stewardship brochure for 2012 which highlights our desired mission here at St. James's. The links are to your left.
core values. As we think about Stewardship as a core value of the Gospel, we are reminded that it is made up of two other values of the Gospel: Gratitude and Generosity. As Episcopalians we learn through scripture, tradition and reason/experience that we live lives of great abundance. We live lives filled of God's Grace, Generosity and Blessing. It is in gratitude to God for all of God's blessings that we respond to the call to be faithful stewards. This means that we are to answer this call with generosity in our hearts and actions.

The mission statement of this wonderful parish states that our mission is:
To live, learn and teach the
values of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
To the faithful Christian, being a good Steward is one of these
